Prayer of Encouragement

Be a voice of Encouragement to someone today. Let us pray and encourage one another as members of the same body of Christ. The bible says" Bear ye one another's burdens, and so fulfil the law of Christ", which is the law of Love. Gal.6:2 KJV

Leaving your comfort zone.

Les Crause.

My Comfort Zone

I grew up living a sheltered life, and spent most of my early years in my little home town. I had never even visited some of the bigger cities in my country, and the furthest I had traveled was to the neighbouring country for a vacation.

My vision was narrow and I when I looked ahead to the future, I could imagine myself living in the same place and growing old there. I had no aspirations for traveling the world or rising up and becoming known.

I just wanted to do what I knew and build a normal life; get married, have a family and live comfortably. And when I thought about the future, I could see myself doing all these things right where I was. I did have great aspirations when I left school, but there was no money to fulfill my desires, so I just settled down into a normal job, and got ready for a normal life.

But then the Lord placed His call on my life, and everything changed. I was led to leave my hometown and move to the capital city of that country to pursue a new career, and then to go into full time ministry. My feet starting moving, and they never stopped.

From there the road widened more and more, until eventually the Lord began to tell me that I would go to places that I had never heard of. This is not really what I was comfortable with. I did not like going into the unknown. But sure enough, it all began to happen.

Today I am living in one of those places I had never heard of. And I have also visited many places that I never expected to see. It was not something that I had dreamed of. And if the truth be told, it was actually something I dreaded and was afraid of. I really did not like to leave my comfort zone. But to fulfill both the call of God and my inner desires, I had no choice.

Leaving The Comfort Zone

Abraham faced this very thing when God called him to move out to a new land. I am sure that he did not find it easy. What made it even worse, was that the Lord did not tell him where he was headed. He had to just trust and obey.

God promised Abraham that He would bless him and make his name great. He told him that he would be the father of many nations. But none of this could have taken place until Abraham was prepared to leave behind what was familiar to him. He had to leave his comfort zone.

We all have our comfort zones - the things we are familiar with. Sometimes it is the skills you have, the kind of work you do. Sometimes, it is where you live, and the people you know.

It is never easy to move into the unknown. But God will usually lead you to do just that. And if you study the lives of famous people, you will see that in most cases they had to give up what was familiar to them, and leave that comfort zone before they could succeed and become known.

Until you are prepared to do that, there can be no growth; no real change in your circumstances. And especially if you have a desire to move into business or ministry, and following a calling in life, you cannot avoid this.

I look back now in amazement at how far I have come. The Lord has truly taken me out of obscurity and put me into the public eye. From being an unknown nobody in a small town, I am rising up to become known in the nations of the world.

Make Your Choice

Do you desire to become wealthy, or move in the power of God, with signs and wonders? Do you want to make an impact on the lives of others, and make a difference in this world? Do you desire to be something different to what you are, and living in better circumstances?

Until you are prepared to let go of your comfort zone and the things you are familiar with, the Lord cannot give you the new thing you desire. So make up your mind right now to break out of the rut that you are in. Be ready to leave behind what you are and what you know.

Then the Lord can pick you up and take you to a new place you have never been before. He can take you out of obscurity and set you in a hill for all the world to see. And you can fulfill those desires that have burned in you for so long.

Just get ready to leave your comfort zone, and it can all take place.

(PSALM 103:13) The LORD is like a father to HIS children, tender and compassionate to those who fear HIM.

In response to Gary Anderson's post, I like to clarify that God did not vindicate Himself or prove Himself to mankind when He send Jesus to die as an atonement of our sins. Infact we are the one's that God needs to vindicate us from our sins and transgrasion. God did not redeem mankind to punish Satan's rebellion, Jesus died for us whereas Satan was thrown out of heaven when he rebel against God.

We must be certain in our doctrine to understand the gospel of the cross. Jesus' act of salvation was for mankind and God need not justify Himself through that act but rather He showed off the love of God in His heart for mankind. We are the ones that need justification for our sins.

"GOD presented him as a sacrifice of atonement, through faith in his blood. He did this to demonstrate His justice, because in His forebearance He had left the sins committed beforehand unpunished - He did it to demonstrate His justice at the present time,so as to be just and the one who justifies those who have faith in JESUS" (ROMANS 3: 25& 26).

"But the plan of salvation had a yet broader and deeper purpose than the salvation of man.It was not for this alone that CHRIST came to the earth;it was not merely that the inhabitants of this little world might regard the Law of GOD as it should be regarded;but it was to vindicate the character of GOD before the universe. To this result of His great sacrifice - its influence upon the intelligence of other worlds,as well as upon man - the Saviour looked forward when just before His crucifixion HE said: 'Now is the judgement of this world;now shall the prince of this world be cast out.And I,if I be lifted up from the earth, will draw all unto me.' JOHN 12:31 & 32.The act of CHRIST in dying for the salvation of man would not only make heaven accessible to men,but before all the universe it would justify GOD and HIS Son in their dealing with the rebellion of Satan. It would establish the perpetuity of the Law of GOD and would reveal the nature and the result of sin.'................
